Arrival, parking and reaching the cabin
All approaches to Dôl Swynol Glamping are on narrow lanes which can take all types of vehicle although care is needed as they are single track. You will love it when you get here and if you are not used to driving on narrow lanes we recommend arriving in daylight. Full arrival instructions will be sent as part of the booking process.
Parking is on a tarmac area and it is a 150m walk on grass (uneven in places) through three gates to reach the cabin. There is no lighting and a torch and welly boots will be provided - please bring your own if you have them. The grass can be wet and muddy at any time of year.
There are three steps height 17cm leading up to the verandah (50cm above the level of the ground) and a sliding door with a doorway 73 cm wide brings you into the cabin itself which sits in its own orchard and wildflower meadow enclosure. There may be sheep grazing in the large meadow on the way depending on the time of year. If you prefer you may walk up through our garden to avoid the sheep.
In the cabin
The cabin is all on one level. The kitchen/living area has a fully equipped kitchen including shelving, storage area, sink, two ring gas hob, kettle, toaster, fridge with ice box and a Remoska which is used like an oven.
Dining facilities
Drop leaf wooden table and two folding chairs for indoor dining.
Larger table plus bench on the verandah for dining al fresco.
There is a two seater sofa and a woodburning stove with a wall mounted electric heater if you prefer not to light the stove.
Bathroom: shower, basin with mirror and flushing WC. Doorway is 70cm wide.
Bedroom area
Kingsize built in bed (200cm x 150cm) with access from one side. Luxurious mattress 78cm from the floor and a small wooden stool is available as a step if needed.
Two deep drawers plus cupboard space for storing luggage.
Two windows with blackout blinds to avoid being woken early in the summer months.
Electric sockets are in the bedroom and living area including 8 USB charging sockets.
SAFETY
Fire extinguisher and fire blanket
Fire alarm - detects heat and doubles as carbon monoxide detector. Wired into the mains.
OUTSIDE
The cabin is situated within its own small orchard wildflower meadow area with mown paths. The whole area is mown at the end of the summer to encourage more wildflower growth in the following year. There is a chiminea for outdoor fire lighting and a seating area.
